Dramatic Crash Drunk Driver Hits Truck And Sends It Over a Guardrail Falling Nearly 40 Ft

An Everett woman accused of driving under the influence and causing a serious crash involving a Boston Globe delivery truck has been ordered held on $10,000 bail. Vivencia Bellegarde, 25, is facing her second operating under the influence charge for a two-car crash which occurred on 93 North in Boston at about 3:20 a.m. Monday. According to state police, Bellegarde allegedly hit the delivery truck causing it to overturn and go over the guardrail. The truck landed on the southbound side of 93 South -- Leverett Connector. The truck driver, a 35-year-old Brockton man, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. The northbound and southbound lanes on the Leverett Connector were closed following the crash and did not reopen until 6:51 a.m., state police said. The crash remains under investigation.
