UN calls the "resignation" of Mexico's President, after the events in Oaxaca
UN calls for resignation of Peña Nieto and requires "a thorough investigation" of the incidents in Oaxaca is made. The United Nations today called for "a thorough investigation" of violent incidents recorded in recent days in Oaxaca state in the south, and cleared with eight dead in the context of social protests teachers union against the authorities and reform educational 2013. In a statement issued Tuesday in Mexico, the Mexico Office of the High Commissioner of the United Nations Human Rights (UN-DH) "condemns the violent events in Nochixtlán and Hacienda Blanca, Oaxaca, on 19 June." The agency notes that in these incidents "at least eight people were deprived of their life and a yet undetermined number were wounded, including policemen.
