Helen Maroulis had to beat Japan's Saori Yoshida, a 13-time world champion and three-time reigning Olympic champion but she won and made history . The Japanese superstar, who had previously only lost two matches over the last 14 years, was attempting to become the second wrestler to ever earn four gold medals, less than 24 hours after Icho, her teammate, became the first. However Maroulis also wanted to make history as now she is the first American woman to ever win gold in Wrestling.
