29 killed in Chongqing China tornado

At least 26 people have been killed and 161 others injured after wild weather swept through southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality. The strong gale,heavy rain and hailstorm happened about 2 o'clock in the morning local time in Dianjiang and Liangping counties. Houses toppled. Other buildings collapsed. Crops have been destroyed. The municipal government's emergency plan has been activated. Relief work is already being given to affected local residents. Highways have been re-opened and power has been restored. People injured in the tornado are being treated in hospital.
