Widow of Steve Jobs Allied Immigrants
Without drawing too much attention as is his custom, Laurene Powell Jobs held a meeting with President Donald Trump behind closed doors in the White House. The widow of one of the most important men in recent history, Apple founder Steve Jobs, who died in 2011, came to visit the president to point out the contributions that immigrants have made to the United States, putting his deceased Husband as an example. Steve Jobs was of Syrian origin, his biological father Abdul Fattah Jandali, came to the country as a refugee fleeing the war in Syria in 1952. Powell's philanthropic organization, The Emerson Collective, has teamed up with those who criticize the president's immigration policies, one of the pages on his website says: 7 things you can do right now to help immigrants and refugees affected by The executive orders of Trump. Laurene is in favor of an immigration reform that includes policies that grant legal status to people brought to the country in their childhood, dreamers. Alan Marks, a spokesman for Powell's organization, confirmed that Jobs's widow would discuss education and immigration issues with the president, but did not elaborate.
