Alfie Curtis dies as an interpreter of Dr. Evazan in Star Wars
The actor Alfie Curtis, who is remembered by fans of the Star Wars saga for playing Dr. Evazan in one of the most iconic scenes of Episode IV. A new hope, "died at 87 years of age for causes not yet revealed, said the portal The Hollywood Reporter. In that film, Alfie intimidated Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, in the Mos Eisley Cantina, assuring him that neither he nor his friend "Ponda Baba" liked them. Alfie Curtis made the Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina scene (one of the most memorable ones I've ever participated in) even more memorable. As horrible as it was on camera, outside the camera was fun, friendly and true gentleman. Thanks Alf you will be missed. wrote Mark Hamill on his Twitter account. In addition to this emblematic role, Curtis played Milkman in The Elephant Man of 1980; as well as Matt Beckett, in the television series Cribb and Ted in the 1986 television miniseries, Lost Empires, to name a few.
