Rome was surprised by snowfall
by Notino
Rome was covered with snow on Monday, to the surprise of neighbors and visitors to the millennial city, where even school closings were reported. The capital of Italy has a warm Mediterranean climate, with average temperatures in the winter months of around 8 degrees, which makes snowfalls very rare. The last time a snow fall was recorded at the site was in February 2012.
