Supported by Greta Thunberg start rebellion against climate change in 60 cities there are arrested

Militants of the environmental movement of civil disobedience Extinction Rebellion (XR) blocked traffic in central London and organized sitting from Sydney to Berlin at the start of two weeks of protests against inaction against climate change. XR was born at the end of 2018 in the United Kingdom on the initiative of a group of activists and academics who were inspired by the strategy of fighting for civil rights in the United States. Advocating civil disobedience, it has spread thanks to social networks and today claims 500 groups in 72 countries. As of this Monday and for two weeks they have planned, under the name of "International Rebellion", actions in 60 cities of the planet, including Madrid, Buenos Aires, Mexico, Rio and Bogotá. They are backed by Greta Thunberg, the Swedish teenager who inspired school protests in defense of the environment and whose speech to the United Nations in September impacted the world. They call for a "climate emergency" to be declared and governments set by 2025 the objective of achieving neutrality in greenhouse gas emissions.
