#AMLO will not allow another operation in Mexico such as 'Fast and Furious'
Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said that his administration will not allow any operation such as the so-called 'Fast and Furious', in which US agents granted weapons to Mexican drug cartels in 2010. "While we are in the Government, no operation like the one of 'Fast and Furious' will be allowed because that, if you remember, was a flagrant violation of our sovereignty, which caused a lot of damage, because weapons were allowed to enter to supposedly follow members of organized crime and those weapons were lost, "López Obrador said in his morning conference on Wednesday, December 4. "Then it was shown that they were used to commit crimes and the plan was a resounding failure," he added. Through the operation 'Fast and furious' the Agency of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives of the US, without knowledge of the Mexican Government, gave weapons to the drug cartels between 2009 and 2011 to, supposedly, track the illicit flow of weapons.
