Iran acknowledges that it accidentally shot down the Ukrainian plane and apologizes

Iranian President Hasan Rohaní apologized to the Ukrainian people and the families of those killed for the demolition of flight 752. The president regretted the facts in a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian leader, Vladimir Zelenski. Earlier, the Iranian authorities acknowledged that the tragedy was due to an error by their military amid tension with the US.
