A marine biologist spends more than £5,000 to become a real-life newt after being fired from his lab job. William Roehl, 29, has always been a lover of mermaid stories, but his interest in mermaid culture soared after the lab he worked at in Honolulu, Hawaii, began to lose funding in 2018.
