2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate caused explosions in Beirut

About 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate are said to have fed the explosions that took place around 5 p.m. locally in a fireworks warehouse in the city of Beirut, Lebanon's capital and main maritime point, said Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab during a meeting with the Asian nation's High Defence Council.
