"We deserve better": Harris makes history by accepting the Democratic vice presidential nomination

The California senator is the first African-American to be nominated for vice president by a prominent party in the United States and the fourth woman to be chosen as part of a presidential ticket. During her speech, she called for a fight against racism and said she accepted the nomination "with a firm commitment to live up to the values" instilled in her by her mother.
