44 arrested on charges of unemployment benefit fraud and identity theft

The Beverly Hills Police Department reported on the arrest of the suspects and that 129 unemployment cards worth $2.5 million and over $280,000 in cash were recovered. Many of the alleged fraudsters traveled from other states to California to commit these crimes and then spent the money on expensive stores, restaurants and luxury car rentals.
