New financial rescue proposal includes $1,200 and $450 weekly unemployment checks

With more than 12 million unemployed in the United States due to the pandemic, a new bipartisan approach has been welcomed by the White House. "I think they are suggesting some very good things," said President Trump. If approved, it would send another $1,200 per person check, plus $450 for unemployment for eight weeks. "The question is whether there is enough time left to reach an agreement before the election," says economist Stan Veuger.
