California expands law that will now allow undocumented immigrants access to social assistance programs
Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law the expansion of AB 1876, which was created in 2015 as a stimulus for taxpayers, but did not include undocumented immigrants. The measure will allow undocumented immigrants, who file their taxes under the number known as ITIN, to access state tax credits for earned income and young children.
