Child who has been in a wheelchair all his life learns to turn around
A child born with a rare disease that left him prostrate in a wheelchair has learned to roll over with the help of his twin brother. Five-year-old Patrick Langford from Ilkeston, Derbyshire was diagnosed with Pontinal Tegment Dysplasia (PTCD) when he was only two weeks old, unlike his twin brother, Freddy, who was born healthy, with no underlying health conditions. The rare disease, which had only been diagnosed in 19 other children in the UK at that time, left Patrick with a number of developmental problems, including hearing problems, speech disorders, feeding and swallowing difficulties and mobility problems so he was destined to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Despite having spent their entire lives going to and from the hospital, Patrick and Freddy have built an inseparable bond in which Freddy plays and cares for his twin brother.
