Terror attack: At least three dead and several injured after stabbings in French church

At least three people were killed and several others injured in a suspected terror attack at a church in the southern French city of Nice, police said. The knife rampage took place at the Notre Dame Basilica at around 9am on Thursday, according to a police spokesman. "A man has been arrested at the scene after being shot by police" he said. "Both victims were beheaded," he added, pointing to "a terrorist attack". The assailant was taken to a nearby hospital after being injured during his arrest, a police official said. They added that the attacker is believed to have acted alone.
