Every time she sees a child, Susan Wanjiku drops her tears. Hers was stolen in 2016 on the streets of Nairobi, Kenya's capital, when her son was only 3 years and a few months old. Now, she says, "I would rather bury him knowing that he is dead, than knowing that he was stolen. Rebecca Wanjiru, a homeless woman, had her baby stolen while she was sleeping with her children on the streets. She never heard from him again. In Nairobi alone, an estimated 60,000 children live on the streets, which in recent years have become major targets for child traffickers. After a year of investigation, the journalist Njeri Mwangi and the Africa Eye team of the BBC discovered irrefutable evidence of a thriving clandestine network of babies active in the African country. Those involved in this traffic take the babies from their mothers and sell them for even a few hundred dollars. As a result of this investigation, the Kenyan police arrested three doctors who were allegedly running a part of this trafficking.
