Journalist Lydia Cacho was arrested in 2005 for the probable commission of the crimes of defamation and slander, charges brought by businessman Kamel Nacif, following the publication of the book Los demonios del edén, in which the writer describes parties in which minors were allegedly perverted and in which Nacif and Jean Succar Kuri are alluded to.
