Lauren Kennedy, from Portland, Maine, USA, listened throughout her childhood to her mother Kellie talk about a toy known as "Barbie's Friendship Boat". Kellie, wished she had such a toy ever since she was a little girl. Barbie's Friendship Ship, originally launched in 1972, is a set that mimics an airplane on the inside and can be accessorized with various accessories. Kellie told Lauren that someone had found the famous toy for $20 at a nearby sale, so Lauren had the great idea to surprise her mother.
