VicPD arrests serial bank robbery suspect
VICTORIA - Victoria Police, with the help of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (ERT), arrested a 36-year old man at Victoria's Plaza Hotel Tuesday night. Police believe the suspect, from up-Island, is responsible for five hold-ups in ten days. The Old Vic Fish and Chips restaurant was held up January 31, The Royal Bank @ Douglas and Fort on Feb. 4, Swans Beer and Wine Store Feb. 6, The Royal Bank @Douglas and Pandora on Feb. 7 and Scotiabank @Douglas and Hillside Feb. 8. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken at all five locations. Police won't say if any of the money has been recovered. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
