Russia takes control of major Ukrainian city

The Russian Defense Ministry reported Wednesday that the Russian Army has taken control of the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson. "Russian units of the Armed Forces took full control of the regional center of Kherson," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said. Civilian infrastructure, livelihood facilities and transportation in the city are functioning normally, according to Konashenkov. The senior official also assured that there is no shortage of food and basic commodities in Kherson.
