UKRAINE WAR: RUSSIA persecutes WAR DISSIDENTS and enforces strong CENSORSHIP
Talking about war is considered a crime in Russia. War dissidents have had to leave the country because of the danger to their own lives of sustaining their anti-war stance. Many of them are now in Istanbul, taking refuge from their own nation, and despite the fact that they could become political prisoners, they continue to demonstrate against the war. Russian censorship shields itself in the fight against Russophobia that, according to them, platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram promote, the same networks that many times are instruments to mobilize against conflicts on a global and multimedia scale, and for that reason, have been restricted. With this same purpose of censorship, Russian authorities show images of police officers investigating in homes to find those who decide to talk about war instead of "Russian special military operation in Ukraine".
