Rappi delivery man asked to carry 4 carafes and asks users for help on TikTok
In TikTok, a Rappi delivery man asks for help because, according to his story, he doesn't know how to deliver four jugs of water ordered through the app. Delivery apps, we know, had an important boom among users; platforms such as Rappi, Uber Eats, DiDi Food, among others, were the link between the consumer and the store in times when going out on the streets represented a health hazard. Of course, this trend of delivery apps is nothing new, but had already been part of the daily lives of people or consumers, who, increasingly, are looking for more community to carry out their purchases. It is thanks to the accelerated digitalization that we live due to global confinement that, today, we have in the market several options to order food at home, all with the intention of satisfying the user's needs. To mention one example, Rappi, a platform originally from Colombia, has been downloaded more than 10 million times through Google Play, completing, to its credit, 100 million orders since its launch in 2015, according to data compiled from Statista as of July 13, 2020. In fact, in just over five years, Rappi has seen its brand value increase to US$5.2 billion, a growth of 420 percent, compared to the figure reached in September 2018. They ask for demijohns of water through Rappi and delivery driver doesn't know what to do Now, on TikTok, the social network that also gained great relevance in the period of confinement, is the space where a Rappi deliveryman tells some of the anecdotes he has experienced doing such work. Less than 24 hours ago, he shared a video in which he tells that, through Rappi, he placed an order for four jugs of Epura brand water; however, in his clip he asks for help because it is practically impossible to keep those four jugs in his backpack. "I know that it is my job and my obligation as a delivery man to carry all the products that the customer asks me for," begins explaining the delivery man and also tiktoker who goes by the name "Barry Barroso." "I am well aware of that and I have never put 'buts', but also you, customers, help me a little bit; how am I going to carry four demijohns in my backpack," he continues to relate. Barry Barroso is known in TikTok for making this type of content, in which he relates some of the secrets or experiences that have happened to him as a delivery app delivery person. Some comments that have been posted on this video suggest him to ask for help from another delivery person to deliver the order. "Ask for help on the app so they can send you another delivery person. I have helped other delivery drivers and we both get paid"; "I was once asked for six five-liter bottles of fabric softener and, apart from that, a good amount of groceries and Bimbo bread"; "It's Rappi's fault because they should assign a vehicle there"; these are some of the comments from Internet users. The video, so far, has 161 thousand views and an accumulated 16 thousand likes, making it clear that the work of delivery drivers has several complexities, which are shared by other users who claim to have the same job.
