Medical students reveal the millions of dollars in debts they will have when they graduate

Studying for a university degree implies a significant expense and, in most cases, a considerable debt. A perfect example can be found in the video, now viral, published by the account @will_ill from the TikTok platform. During the recording, some students pointed out the 'large' sums of money they will pay after graduating. Often, William (@will_ill) uses the Asian platform to show his life in medical school. This time, the young man surprised his followers by uploading content about the debt he and his classmates will have in a few years. "Asking medical students how much they are taking out (...) We are so broke it's actually crazy," wrote the boy, whose video accumulated more than 3 million views. When William approached his friends, they confessed their financial affairs on camera. The first were Saloman and Yolanda, who announced the lowest amount at $150,000 each. Meanwhile, Tanya's sum became the highest. As reported by Newsweek, she is expected to owe $400,000, because she is an out-of-state student. "You might be able to pay that off before you die," William joked. Many of the classmates were gleeful at the revelation of their enormous debts. In that sense, the behavior of the protagonists attracted a lot of attention and generated diverse opinions. "How are they so casual about it? I would be in constant paralyzing anxiety if I had debts," wrote one user. Meanwhile, another netizen argued that "medical school should be free. Salaries have been completely slashed and they have a hugely delayed start to earnings."
