Chaos at the port of Dover leaves travellers queueing for up to six hours

Holidaymakers are left queueing for miles outside of Dover hoping to cross the Channel into France. The port declared a ‘critical incident’, blaming French border control staffing for being ’woefully inadequate’. While chaos hit the cross-Channel ferry route, the rush to get away for summer is expected to cause delays on other transport networks including railways and flights
