Italy: Woman left her baby alone for 6 days to go on a trip with her boyfriend; when she returned she found her dead.

Alessia Pifferi, a 37-year-old mother, left her one-and-a-half-year-old baby all alone for 6 days while she went on a trip with her boyfriend. Upon her return, she found her dead. According to El Diario, Pifferi traveled to a town in Bergamo. On July 14 she left her baby clean and with her bottle in the crib. She lied to her boyfriend, telling him she had left her with her sister on the beach. Prosecutor Francesco De Tomassi said the little girl "died of hunger and thirst".
