More than 1,000 evacuated by huge fire in a warehouse of a popular online store near Moscow
A huge fire broke out Wednesday at a distribution center of Russian online retail giant Ozon in the Moscow region, resulting in the voluntary evacuation of more than 1,000 people, the country's Emergencies Ministry reported. According to preliminary data, no one was injured. The agency said that 35,000 square meters are on fire, while a part of the roof collapsed. Videos have been broadcast on the networks showing clouds of black smoke rising into the sky. Other unverified footage shows the fire starting from inside the warehouse. Ozon opened the affected facility in the Petrovskoe locality in November 2021. The total area of the warehouse exceeds 75,000 square meters.
