#OMG: Drought starvation stones discovered in Europe

The "famine stones" were used for centuries particularly to mark historical droughts and to alert the population to their consequences. Several of these stones are also embedded in the Elbe River, which runs from the mountains of the Czech Republic across part of Germany to the North Sea.
