Russia Denies Brittney Griner’s Appeal of 9-Year Sentence

A Russian court has denied WNBA star Brittney Griner's appeal of a 9-year sentence for possessing vape cartridges containing cannabis oil. Griner and her lawyers asked for an acquittal or at least to lessen her sentence, which they said was disproportionate to the offense and contradicts Russia’s own judicial practices.
