TRUECRIME: Detroit’s Lamarr Monson case (updates in description)
by VRGA
The murder of Christina Brown seemed to be sewn up: Cops had what they thought was the murder weapon, and they had their suspect, Lamarr Monson. They got his confession, which led to a conviction and a prison sentence of 30 to 50 years. For the Detroit police force back then, it's a job well done -- but they had the wrong man. In 2017, the homicide case against Lamarr Monson was dropped. Lamarr Monson, 46, was released from prison in February 2017. Monson filed a $75 million federal court lawsuit on Feb. 23, 2018.
