Death toll from Elliot storm rises to 50

At least 52 people have died as a result of a winter storm that swept across the U.S. over the Christmas weekend, with 28 deaths in New York's Erie County alone. Buffalo, New York, was buried by up to 1.2 meters of snow and battered by fierce blizzard conditions that caused zero visibility.
