Barbie with Down syndrome: Mattel's new inclusive doll

The company Mattel announced that during the course of this year they will put on sale the first Barbie doll with Down syndrome, which will wear orthopedic ankle braces and will have three colors in her dress to represent the trisomy 21 that causes this genetic disorder. This doll will be part of the 'Fashionistas' line, which includes eight body types, 35 skin tones and 94 hairstyles.
