Volcanic alert of #Popocatepetl changes to yellow phase 3, due to intense activity

Due to the increased activity of the Popocatepetl volcano, the Scientific Advisory Committee of the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred), determined to raise the level of the Volcanic Alert Traffic Light from Yellow Phase 2 to Phase 3, confirmed the head of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), Laura Velázquez Alzúa, who will arrive in Puebla in the next few hours. In a press conference from Mexico City, the official in charge of the National Civil Protection Coordination announced that as of this Sunday the Volcanic Alert Traffic Light is at Yellow Phase 3, which is a stage prior to the Red color.
