VIRGINIA deputy deploys spike strip to stop a fleeing vehicle. A deputy in northeast Virginia quickly deployed a spike strip device to end a police chase on Thursday, July 13, footage shows. Video released by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy, named as JW McAllister, unfurl the device, also called a ‘stinger,’ along a road in Fredericksburg on Thursday afternoon. According to details in the post, McAllister was alerted to the vehicle pursuit and predicted the correct route the driver would take. He then deployed the device, which punctured one of the suspect’s tires before the vehicle came to a stop a short distance later. The female suspect was taken into custody and multiple charges were expected, the sheriff’s office said.
