Formalization hearing begins in the investigation of the murder of Valentina Cancela

Valentina Cancela's ex-boyfriend, 17 years old, is testifying before the courts after he confessed this Wednesday that he had murdered the teenager. In his first statement, the young man said that Valentina had chosen to stay at the beach when he decided to leave. The authorities were already aware that he had three complaints of violence made by the victim's mother. After being arrested, he confessed to the crime, was taken to the beach and indicated where he buried the body. The adolescent was detained and placed under the care of INAU. As he is a minor, the law states that he has to stay in an INISA facility, but there is only infrastructure in the departments of Montevideo, Canelones and Lavalleja.
