Taliban bans women from Afghanistan national park
by Noti.Mexico
The Taliban has restricted women from entering the Band-e-Amir national park in Afghanistan from August 28, 2023. The ban is understood to have been introduced after some women did not wear the hijab properly. Since their takeover in August 2021, the Taliban has enforced a strict code of Islamic law that disproportionately impacts women, and passed laws that have been described by the United Nations as “gender apartheid.”
