Andres Roemer arrested in Israel; could be extradited to Mexico

Andrés Roemer was arrested by the Israeli police after an arrest warrant was served after he was accused of sexual abuse by dozens of women. The lawyer and writer had gone to live in that country, so Mexican authorities requested his extradition. In February 2021, several women broke their silence by accusing the former diplomat of having suffered sexual abuse and inappropriate behavior. After that, Roemer went to Israel to live, but that same year, Mexico filed five extradition requests to the Israeli government.
