The Gaza Strip has been left without electricity after the only power plant stopped working, Hamas media reported and Reuters reports. It comes amid the "total siege" launched by Israel in response to Hamas's surprise attack that has rejected the humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians proposed by Egypt. It says it would "force the Palestinian people to leave their homeland." The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said that the scale of the ongoing hostilities has had serious humanitarian consequences, with homes, schools, medical facilities and other infrastructure damaged or destroyed in Gaza.
