A 28-year-old woman was diagnosed with brain death after undergoing functional nose surgery at a hospital in Polanco, in the Miguel Hidalgo district of Mexico City (CDMX). Days after receiving the surgery, the young woman, identified as Karla Anaya, began to feel ill and was diagnosed with meningitis. However, within three days she died, presumably after acquiring a bacterium.
