New law criminalizes undocumented migrants in Texas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law a bill that allows police to detain #migrants who illegally cross into the United States and gives local judges the authority to order them to leave the neighboring country. The new measure, which will take effect in March 2024, will allow any Texas law enforcement officer to detain people who are suspects.
