Gadget envy a sign of the times

http://www.nma.tv Back in the day, people were content just to have a cell phone or a computer. Technology was a thing of wonderment. But now, technology is merely a status symbol. People race to buy the latest gadgets as soon as they're released. Men used to buy fancy cars to overcompensate for their insecurities. Now they buy cars and iPads. Much of the blame rests with Apple, which has its customers trained to blindly crave its products. Like it or not, technological one-upmanship is here to stay.
