Mohammed Assaf unites Palestinians on talent show Arab Idol

Metanews: A singer from a Gaza refugee camp has united two feuding groups of Palestinians with his performances on Arab Idol. Mohammed Assaf has sung his way to fame on the show, which is a spin-off of American Idol. The Palestinians in Gaza and Ramallah have been separated by feuding leadership for seven years, but recently, they have been united in spirit by Assaf. Dozens of people even gathered on the streets of Ramallah on Saturday night to watch the 23-year-old perform on big TV screens.
