#OMG: Bear Charges at Woman After She Calls It 'So Cute'
A woman who praised a bear for being cute while on vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, did not get the response she expected as the bear charged straight at her, leaving her to make a quick retreat. Video by Illet Al Junaidi shows her greeting the bear, luckily from behind a gate, with a cheerful, “Hi cutie! Why are you so cute?” The bear is quick to dispel this notion, stepping towards the gate and then rushing forwards. “Oh hell no!” Al Junaidi says as she turns and heads back inside. Al Junaidi told Storyful that she and her husband were staying in the Great Smoky Mountains back in 2020 when she noticed the bear in front of their cabin. “I decided to go say hi because he seemed nice, but that was not the case. As soon as I got comfortable, he charged at me. I got scared and ran back in the cabin, and didn’t go out for the rest of our four-day trip,” she said. The National Parks Service says attacks by black bears in the Smoky Mountains are very rare. But, they say, the animals are “dangerous and unpredictable”. Being too close may “promote aggressive behavior from the bear such as running toward you,” the service says.
